The Old Grey Whistle Test 40th Anniversary

A celebration of BBC Television’s classic rock music television show; ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’ launched everyone from Bob Marley and The Wailers to The New York Dolls on to an unsuspecting audience. It was the only showcase for non-chart album music on British Television. The programme had a diversity of presenters including “Whispering” Bob Harris and Annie Nightingale.
